SMFC Team of the Century Painting

Sydney-based artist Dave Thomas was commissioned to paint a portrait of the South Melbourne Team of the Century in a typical South Melbourne setting.

Thomas, whose works included sporting portraits for the Australian Cricket Board, Sir Donald Bradman Foundation and Rugby League clubs Melbourne Storm and St George, spent months researching each South Melbourne player and doing various sketches.

The finished product is instantly recognisable for all South supporters, as well as being extremely nostalgic.
