Congratulations to Zed and welcome to South Melbourne. Zed a former National League player and senior coach joined us this year from Springvale White Eagles and had the task together with the Operations Manager in collecting almost an entirely new team from A leagues and other Super League teams. With most last years talented U/15 Super League disbanding Zed had 6 weeks to build a strike force. To the boys and Zed’s credit not only was a team formed but they took everything before them and won the league with 3 games remaining. The team was very fit and determined never giving up at any stage of a game. They had an incredible will to win. Thank you to Lucky for working with me pre-season to build a squad and then assisting Zed and Anthony Sabato with the team on match days. This team has now qualified for the U/18 Super League and should be a stern test for all opposition clubs. Thanks to all the boys that assisted the older age groups during the clubs late season injury crisis. Special mention must go to Alex Saisanas for giving the club 10 years continuous service and having played more than 200 league and cup games for the club.
