Friendship Games

The
Friendship Games features the best age group players
across Australia, representing their respective
States and Territories.
There were five South Melbourne under 13 boys
selected for the travelling squad pictured from left
to right James Karvelis (Central Defender), Jonathan
Parra (Right Wing), Peter Skapetis (Left Wing), Bradley
Blumenthal (Striker) and Philip Petreski (Central
Midfield). Also 3 of our South Boys were named as
emergencies Carl Tai, Harrison Michaelis & Amir.
Just goes to show how much depth there is in this
team.
Special
congratulations to Peter Skapetis who earned a spot
as a midfielder in this national award.
It
was also announced that for the first time Australia
will be sending an under 14 National team to the
Asia cup in 2009. This means that from this
tournament 35 boys will be invited to trial for the
national team where a squad of 20 will travel to the
Asia Cup 2009. Good Luck to all the south Boys, I am
sure they are all a good chance of selection.
