Kyle-Joryeff

South Melbourne FC is pleased to formally announce the signings of Kyle Joryeff and Hamid Basma, with both players expected to make their League debuts against Northcote City this Sunday.

Kyle Joryeff joins South from Sunshine George Cross, where he had been playing excellent football and had scored quality goals as an attacking player. Joryeff made his South debut by featuring in the starting eleven against Gombak United in the RHB Singapore Cup first round and it was his cross from the right side that led to Daniel Vasilevski opening the scoring. Apart from setting up the goal, the Englishman made several excellent runs down the right flank, something that the coaching staff and supporters are hoping that he can continue doing for South for the rest of the VPL season.

Hamid Basma joins South from rivals Heidelberg United, where ironically his only goal for the Bergers was in the 1-1 draw against South in round 6. Basma made his South debut as a substitute in Singapore and he nearly scored within a minute of taking to the field but was denied by the Gombak goalkeeper. Basma arrives as a highly-rated striker, who is big and strong, technically sound and with a powerful shot on him. His arrival brings more selection headaches for the coaching staff, with Gianni De Nittis and Joseph Youssef linking well together up front in recent weeks.

South Melbourne FC welcomes Kyle Joryeff and Hamid Basma to the club and wishes both players all the best for the League and Cup seasons this year.
