South Melbourne FC have been rocked by the news that youngster Nick Jacobs has been ruled out for the remainder of the 2012 season with a broken ankle.
The 17 year old forced his way into the senior line-up in the match against Southern Stars on Saturday 28 July and became a hero when he headed home Phil Petreski’s cross in the 94th minute to win the game for South 3-2.
It is expected he will be out of action for up to six months but with a bit of luck he will hopefully be available for the opening round of the 2013 Victorian Premier League season.
We wish Nick all the best in recovering from such a horrific injury and hope to see him in a South shirt early next year.
