South Melbourne FC wishes to extend its deepest condolences to the Toumbourou family on the passing of Antonis Toumbourou last week.
Mr Toumbourou was a prominent and active member in both the Greek and Cypriot communities. Mr Toumbourou, 85, left behind seven children and 14 grandchildren.
Mr Toumbourou, together with his then business partner, former SMFC President Mr Chris Christopher, provided substantial and very generous financial support to the Club in 2004, assisting it to survive the disbandment of the National Soccer League. His generosity and passionate support will always be fondly remembered and greatly appreciated by the Club and its supporters.
