South Melbourne FC is excited to announce a formal partnership with one of Melbourne’s leading independent schools, Mentone Grammar. SMFC Technical Director Strati Xynas has been appointed Head of Football at Mentone Grammar.
The partnership allows Mentone Grammar students to have direct access to professional and specialised coaching by SMFC Youth coaches, as well as the implementation of numerous innovative training methods throughout the season.
Speaking to SMFC TV, Strati Xynas was excited with the Club’s partnership. “I’d like to thank both Andrew Mesourouni and Leo Athanasakis for assisting us all in getting such a partnership completed. We will be working closely with those at Mentone Grammar to give the students the very best in coaching and football related activities.”
Mentone Grammar is building on the strong foundations and reputation as a leader in sporting success. The school is employing sports specific experts in all sports ensuring students have access to elite sports pathways and exposure to high caliber coaching.

Mentone Grammar students will receive SMFC memberships to ensure they have the ability to watch senior teams in action at Lakeside Stadium.
