South Melbourne FC would like to thank Yuzo Iwakami for his time at the club, with the Japanese veteran now returning home in our first key move ahead of the Australian Championship.
Yuzo joined during the mid-season window and made an immediate impact, delivering a man of the match performance in the Dockerty Cup Semi Final against Avondale. He followed that up with another standout display in the Dockerty Cup Final as we lifted the trophy against Heidelberg United.
A calm presence who guided us through some tough moments, Yuzo embraced his short spell at Lakeside with professionalism and class. He will forever be remembered as a South cult hero.
