South Melbourne FC would like to confirm that it has re-signed defender Kristian Konstantinidis for the next two seasons.

Having played 35 matches for the club, Konstantinidis is a key member of Chris Taylor’s squad and will once again play an integral role in the club’s defensive structure for the upcoming season.

With the ability to play in numerous positions across the back four and in midfield, the championship winner also provides the coach with an experienced and highly accomplished option as one of the best defenders in the state.

Speaking to smfc.com.au Football Director Nicholas Maikousis was pleased with retaining Konstanintidis. “He is a very important player in our back half and we are pleased to see him re-commit to the club for the next two seasons. His impact throughout the league and during our FFA Cup run of late was extremely important so we are naturally pleased to have someone with his ability and experience part of our squad”

We wish Kristian all the best for 2018 and beyond.
