South Melbourne FC is pleased to announce the appointment of Eddie Krncevic as the new Senior Coach, with Joe Montemurro retaining his current position as Assistant Coach.
Both men will be in charge for South’s remaining fixtures in the 2010 RHB Singapore Cup before leading the team into the 2011 Victorian Premier League season.
Eddie, a former Socceroo, is a coach with a wealth of experience, having coached Carlton Soccer Club and Marconi Fairfield in the National Soccer League.
Eddie also coached South Melbourne FC in the 2001/02 NSL season, introducing young players such as Massimo Murdocca and Vince Lia into the senior side as he lead South to the finals. The Club believes that Eddie’s experience and intimate knowledge of Victorian football makes him the ideal choice for the senior coaching position.
Eddie replaces departing Senior Coach Vaughan Coveny who has the honorable distinction of serving the club as both player and coach. South Melbourne FC thanks Vaughan for his efforts in 2010 and wishes him all the best in his future endeavors.
