South help raise awareness for Multiple Sclerosis (MS) •

Last Friday, a number of South Melbourne officials were in attendance at a very special cause. Corporate Partner Jim Rigogiannis of JR Training held a fundraising dinner at Kinisi to raise awareness for Multiple Sclerosis (MS).There were a number of special guests at the event, including recent Sport Australia Hall of Fame inductee, kick boxing legend Stan ‘The Man’ Longinidis’ who provided an inspirational speech on overcoming obstacles and adversity in life.

SMFC Corporate Coterie member George Metax from Barry Plant Preston was the guest auctioneer which saw many great items auctioned off and raise much needed funds for further research into MS.

Actor Costas Kilias stole the show with his great speech, but also his signing and dancing with the Elvis impersonator that brought the house down.

The condition MS is a progressive disease of the nervous system, for which there is no cure. Approximately one in twenty Australians will be touched by MS through a family member, colleague or friend with the disease. An estimated 23,000 people in Australia have MS, with 1,000 Australians are diagnosed with MS every year.
