    SMFC will meet the Port Melbourne Sharks for the second time this season, with South looking to continue on their winning ways after defeating the Bulleen Lions 3-0, while the Port Melbourne Sharks will be looking to bounce back from their 1-0 loss to Heidelberg United last weekend.

    South Melbourne (WWDWW)

    South are in good form coming into the second half of the home and away season, with  with four wins in their past five matches including a 3-0 win against the Bulleen Lions on the weekend. The defending champions dominated right from the very start against the Lions with two first half goals to Lujic in the 8th minute and Millar in the 26th minute, until a second half goal to Lujic in the 50th minute sealed the win for the defending NPL champions. Coming from a thrilling 5-4 victory in their Round 7 FFA Cup encounter against Dandenong City on Wednesday night, the hosts’ will be looking to continue on their winning ways when they meet the Port Melbourne Sharks at home on Sunday.

    Port Melbourne Sharks (DLWDL)

    Coming from a 1-1 draw to Avondale, Port Melbourne were unable to secure three points against ladder leaders Heidelberg United, with a 1-0 loss to the Bergers courtesy of a last minute goal from Jack Petrie in the first half. With the loss leaving the Sharks stranded on four wins for the season, the visitors will be looking for nothing less than three points against an in-form South away from home.

    The last time these two teams met was in Round 2 this year where the Port Melbourne Sharks defeated South Melbourne 4-0 at JL Murphy Reserve.

    Preview :: South women to host Bayside at Lakeside

    SMFC meet Bayside United for the second time this season with South Melbourne looking to continue on their winning ways after their thrilling 2-1 win over Calder United, while Bayside United will be striving to bounce back from their narrow 4-3 defeat to Heidelberg United last weekend.

    South Melbourne (WDDWW)

    The South girls have had an impressive couple of weeks, capped off with a 2-1 win over reigning NPLW champions Calder United courtesy of a Lisa De Vanna strike inside the area in the 87th minute. Now only two points behind ladder leaders Geelong Galaxy United, the hosts’ will be looking for nothing less than three points against bottom side Bayside United in their seventh consecutive match at Lakeside Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

    Bayside United (LLLLL)

    Bayside United have had a terrible season thus far, losing all of their past five matches including a 4-3 loss to Heidelberg United courtesy of a second half goal to Grace Abbey in the 70th minute. Bottom of the table with only one win for the season, they will be looking to secure maximum points against an in-form South away from home.

    The last time these two teams met was in Round 4 this year where the girls secured a narrow 3-2 win over Bayside United at Kingston Heath Soccer Complex.
