South Melbourne FC is an iconic sporting club boasting 4 national championships and widely regarded as Australiaโs most successful football club. The club wishes to appoint a full time General Manager who will be responsible in overseeing the overall management of staff and volunteers, finances, projects and initiatives in order to retain the club as a competitive organisation and leading player in the Australian sporting landscape.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Board of Directors, you will be responsible for overseeing the various aspects of the clubโs affairs. This will include but is not limited to:
– Sponsorship acquisition
– Membership program
– Overseeing football department
– Liaising with relevant internal and external stakeholders
– Financial planning and management
– Facility and sporting infrastructure management
Selection Criteria
To be successful in this role you must possess the following:
– Intimate knowledge of the football landscape
– Professional approach to your work
– Strong analytical and communication skills
– Friendly and helpful nature
– Computer literacy
– Time management skill
This role would suit an experienced sports administrator or high level manager with a proven track record to plan strategically and deliver tangible outcomes who is up for a challenge.
