South Signs Gun Striker

South Melbourne FC is proud to announce the signing of 27 year old striker Kevin Nelson from Tobago in the West Indies.

Kevin is a former Trinidad & Tobago U/16 and under 23 (Olympic Team) International and is relishing the chance of playing for SMFC where he is sure to be a handful for VPL defenders in season 2006. Nelson is quick, strong and loves to take on defenders.

Johnny A is upbeat about next year’s title aspirations saying:

“the signing of Kevin Nelson bolsters our attacking firepower and true scoring ability giving our forward line an international dimension”

The talented striker who has played in over 100 games in the Canada Professional League scoring 71 goals and winning numerous goal scoring and MVP awards is set to excite the blue and white faithful at Australia’s most successful football club.

Previous stints have included spells at clubs in Germany, Belgium England and Venezuela.
