South Melbourne FC is pleased to announce that Joseph Youssef (pictured center) and Eddie Cetkin have signed for the club for the 2009 Victorian Premier League season.
Youssef is an experienced attacking player who has previously had stints with the Essendon Royals and Fawkner Blues in Victoria’s top flight. Throughout both stints Youssef has impressed with his work-rate and ability to continually win the ball in the air and at ground level. He also has an ability to score goals on a regular basis, hitting the back of the net 6 times in 2008, including a goal against South at Bob Jane Stadium. Playing ability aside, Youssef is also known for his strong leadership skills, having captained the Fawkner Blues at only 21 years of age.
Joining Youssef at Bob Jane Stadium will be defender Cetkin, who played at Western Suburbs in 2008. Cetkin is a versatile defender who has the capability of playing numerous roles across the defence, as well as being able to play as a defensive midfielder.
With this signing, the club believes that it has acquired an experienced, motivated and exceptional defender that who will provide the club with a great defensive option.
South Melbourne is excited to have acquired the services of both players and hope that they can add some extra strength to the 2009 squad.
