Lizzie Ramsay joins South Women’s coaching team
South Melbourne FC is happy to announce Lizzie Ramsay will be joining the South Women’s coaching team for 2023.
Growing up in England, Lizzie first played football for Lytham St Anne’s YMCA north of Liverpool. She developed as an exciting young prospect captaining the youth sides at Blackpool FC and making her first team debut at the age of 16.
Moving to Australia, Lizzie played 4 seasons in the NSFA Women’s Premier League for Lindfield FC. After some injuries Lizzie switched her focus to coaching and youth development. She completed a Diploma in Sports Management (High Performance) with the International Sport College Australia and in 2020 Lizzie received a scholarship with Football NSW to undertake her C Licence coaching accreditation. Lizzie has been working as the Head Coach and Manager of the women’s program at Peak Football Academy.
Women’s Football Director Theo Chronis said “I’m excited to have Lizzie join us at South Melbourne. We have an amazing group of young girls at South and they are going to benefit greatly from Lizzie coaching and developing them. Additionally in her work with the Senior Women’s team, Lizzie will bring structure and organisation to the playing group whilst also further developing her coaching and high performance skills. I look forward to seeing what Lizzie can help us achieve in 2023 and beyond”
Lizzie will join the club in October 2022 and will serve as the NPL Under 13s coach and the Team Manager of the Senior NPL team.
